Useful Marketing Tools

Setting up your first online marketing campaign can be somewhat overwhelming. Thankfully, I’ve found that there are a number of online marketing tools that can be found for either no cost or a very small fee. Each does quite a bit to simplify the marketing process. Below are a few of the marketing tools I use most.

Keyword Discovery

Keyword Discovery is an amazing tool that allows you to determine what keywords are most relevant to your niche, product, or website. Keyword Discovery browses almost 200 search engines to compile the statistics regarding the success of each keyword. The cost for this service starts at around £49.95 per month but I recommend subscribing, doing the research you need for your upcoming projects, and then canceling the service before you are charged for the next month. You can always subscribe again when necessary. This is, hands down, one of the best keyword tracking tools I’ve ever used.

Google Rankings

Google Rankings used to be an effective tool, and still can be, but only if you’ve used it in the past. The tool allows you to enter a keyword and will then list the most popular websites on the web using that same keyword. You can also enter your own domain address to determine how your website is ranked against the others.  Sadly, while the service is free, Google Rankings seems to be phasing it out and no longer provides any sort of customer service for this tool. If you are lucky enough to have a Google SOAP API Key, you can still use this service. If not, you’ll have to find someone who has a key they’re willing to share or simply move on to another service.

LinkVendor

Link Vendor is a series free and professional tool you can use to determine how your website fares when it comes to successful search engine optimisation. There are over 20 tools in several different categories. You can test your social bookmark popularity, compare your site to another, view your page rank, test your keyword density, figure out your link popularity, generate a sitemap, and much more. This is my absolute favourite marketing tool as it gives me the ability to really understand how well my website is performing against others.

These are just a few of my personal favourites, and they’re the ones I use the most. I’ll be back in a few days with a few more marketing tools you can add to your arsenal. In the meantime, experiment with these and let me know how they work out.

Happy Marketing!
